ChessUp 2 Can't Connect/Find WiFi
What to do if your ChessUp 2 board won't connect to WiFi
If your board cannot connect to your WiFi, there are several things that could cause this.
- First, make sure that you see your WiFi router in the list of options.
- Your WiFi setup only has 5 GHz. ChessUp 2 requires 2.4 GHz. Check your router to see if it supports 2.4 GHz. This is the mostly likely cause.
- You have a Hidden SSID. Some people have a hidden SSID, but this is rare. Currently ChessUp 2 does not support hidden SSIDs, but we are looking into adding support in the future.
- Captive Portal is not supported. This is the case where a web browser is required to authenticate the internet connection. This is often the case with the case with hotels and some apartment complexes to have this sort of log in.
- To make sure the board is working correctly, try to connect to your phone through a Wi-Fi hotspot.
If you are having trouble with entering your Wi-Fi password, you can try using the app. The keyboard on ChessUp 2 has only English characters and symbols. If you have non-English characters or symbols in your password, you will need to use the app.
