How to log in to your Lichess account on your ChessUp 2


To log in to your Lichess account, you'll need the ChessUp app. You can download this on a phone or a tablet through the iOS app store or the Android Play store. You will also need a Lichess account. If you do not already have an account, go to lichess.org to create an account before proceeding to the steps below.


Follow the below steps to log in to your Lichess account on your ChessUp 2:

  • Turn on your ChessUp 2 board.
  • From the Home screen, select the Lichess option. A screen will appear asking you to sign in. Stay on this page.
  • Launch the ChessUp app and accept the data privacy notification. This only shows if it's your first time launching the app.
  • You can log in, create an account, or continue as a guest.
  • Allow the app access to Bluetooth connectivity. This will allow your phone to connect to the ChessUp board.
  • After a few seconds, the app will connect to the board and a pop-up will appear saying - ChessUp Wants to Use "lichess.org" to Sign In." Accept this pop-up.
  • The Lichess sign in page should now be showing.
  • Now you can enter your Lichess username and password.
  • Authorize access to your Lichess account.
  • The sign in process can take a few moments.
  • Once you see the Lichess screen on your ChessUp 2, you're all set!
  • You can close the app and continue on your ChessUp 2.

You'll remain signed in to your Lichess account, even if you turn your ChessUp off and on again. If you do not turn on your board for a long period of time, you may be asked to sign in again. If you'd like to sign out, see this article: Signing Out of chess.com and Lichess
