Connecting ChessUp 2 to WiFi
ChessUp 2 - Wi-Fi Setup
This guide summarizes how to connect your ChessUp 2 to Wi-Fi and complete the initial firmware update. Estimated time: 2-5 minutes.
Before you begin
• Make sure to know the Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password
• Stable connection (2.4 GHz is required)
• Sufficient battery or power connected
Steps
Step 1: Power on the board
Use the switch on the side to turn on your ChessUp 2.
Step 2: Choose your language
When prompted, select your preferred language (e.g., English).
Step 3: Scan & pick your Wi-Fi
The board scans for nearby networks. Select your Wi-Fi from the list.
Step 4: Enter the Wi-Fi password
If your password uses English letters/symbols only, you can enter it using the keyboard on the ChessUp board. Select "On ChessUp" on the "Choose WiFi Password Input" screen.
When on the keyboard screen the first tap zooms into the keyboard; second tap selects a character. If your password uses non-English letters/symbols you can use the ChessUp app to enter the password.
Step 5: Confirm the password
Press the blue checkmark to submit.
Step 6: Wait for the firmware update
After a successful connection, a firmware update starts automatically. This may take about a minute.
Step 7: Automatic reboot
When the update completes, the board reboots automatically.
Step 8: Ready to play
After reboot, your ChessUp 2 is connected to Wi-Fi and ready to use.
Troubleshooting
• Password rejected: Re-enter carefully; check capitalization and symbols.
• Network not listed: Move closer to the router and refresh the list. Make sure your Network is not hidden.
• Update stuck: Wait a few minutes; if it persists, reboot the board and try again.
• Still can't connect: Try another network or mobile hotspot.
